Dr. Monirul Haque, MBBS, FRACGP, FACRRM (Honorary), and Masters in Family Medicine, is the Director of Sanctuary Lake Medical Practice and a seasoned GP supervisor. With extensive experience in both clinical practice and medical education, he advocates for better funding, respect, and support for general practitioners as an RACGP Presidential candidate.

Focuses on securing continuous funding for general practice, rebranding the profession for greater respect and recognition, and advocating for fair remuneration. His vision includes strengthening the GP workforce, especially in rural areas, and embracing innovation to improve patient care.

Vision

Dr. Monirul Haque envisions a future where general practitioners are universally recognized and respected as the cornerstone of healthcare, providing comprehensive, continuous, and patient-centered care. His vision aims to ensure GPs receive the recognition and remuneration they deserve, fostering a culture of respect and support to elevate and sustain the profession for future generations.

Mission

Dr. Haque’s mission is to secure continuous funding and support for general practice, advocating for greater respect and recognition for GPs. By engaging the community and leveraging innovations like Artificial Intelligence, he aims to enhance the quality of care and ensure the pivotal role of GPs is acknowledged and valued.

Goals

Dr. Haque’s goals include securing better funding for general practice, advocating for the value and fair remuneration of 50,000 GPs, and strengthening the workforce, especially in rural and remote areas. He aims to improve the intake, training, and support of International Medical Graduates (IMGs) and local medical graduates. Additionally, Dr. Haque is committed to enhancing community engagement and ensuring that GPs are equipped with the skills and resources needed to meet the evolving healthcare needs. By achieving these goals, Dr. Haque seeks to create a more robust and respected general practice landscape.
